Level 17 - Clock Hand and Roman Numerals
Level 17
Video Walkthrough
Objective
Open the vault by solving the clock hand puzzle, collecting the rotary lever and weight, revealing and entering a four-digit code, pressing roman numeral buttons in sequence, aligning moving rings to get a lever, and using both levers to reveal the final time clue.
Step-by-Step Solution
- Look at the front of the safe to find a clock mechanism with a hand
- Notice there are card symbols or tiles that need to be matched
- Turn the clock hand past the numbers in the correct order to match the tiles
- The sequence is: 1, 3, 2, 4, 4, 2
- Turn the clock hand to pass each number in this exact order
- When the clock hand puzzle is completed correctly, collect the Rotary Lever
- Look at the right side of the safe to find a spindle mechanism
- Add the Rotary Lever to the spindle
- Move the handle connected to the spindle to open a hatch on the right side
- Collect the Weight from the opened hatch
- Turn to the left side of the safe and look for a small window
- Find a hook on the left side near the small window
- Place the Weight on the hook
- This reveals a four-digit code behind the curtain or window
- Note the four-digit code that is revealed
- Turn to the front of the safe and look at the bottom
- Find the rotary phone dial at the bottom of the safe
- Enter the four-digit code using the rotary phone dial
- The code to enter is: 7141
- After entering the correct code, collect the Key from the dial mechanism
- Look above the rotary phone dial to find a keyhole
- Use the Key in the keyhole above the dial
- This activates a panel with buttons showing roman numerals
- Look at the small window on the right side of the safe to see a clue
- You will see five Roman numerals displayed in the small window
- Press the roman numeral buttons in the order shown in the clue
- The sequence is: III, IV, II, I, II
- Press each button in this exact order
- After pressing the buttons correctly, four rings will start moving on the right column
- Look at the right side of the safe to see the four moving rings
- Each ring has gaps that need to be aligned
- Quickly position each ring so the gaps line up
- The rings will continue moving, so timing and precision are important
- When all four rings are properly aligned with their gaps lined up, you can collect a Lever from inside
- Collect the Lever from the aligned rings
- Return to the right side of the safe where there is already one lever present
- Add the second Lever you collected to the first lever on the right side
- Pull both levers down together
- This reveals a time clue that you'll need for the final puzzle
- Use the time clue with the clock mechanism at the center of the safe
- Complete the final clock puzzle to unlock the vault
- Collect the artifact to complete Level 17
💡 Tips & Tricks
- For the clock hand puzzle, make sure to turn the hand in the exact sequence: 1, 3, 2, 4, 4, 2
- The clock hand must pass each number in order - don't skip any numbers
- After placing the weight on the hook, make sure to note the code before moving away
- The rotary phone dial requires you to rotate it to each digit - take your time
- The code 7141 must be entered exactly - double check each digit
- For the roman numeral buttons, check the small window on the right side for the clue
- The roman numeral sequence (III, IV, II, I, II) must be pressed in the exact order shown
- The moving rings require quick action - position them as soon as they slow down
- All four rings must have their gaps aligned simultaneously to collect the lever
- Make sure you have both levers before attempting to pull them down together
- The time clue revealed by the levers is needed for the final clock puzzle
⚠️ Common Mistakes
- Not turning the clock hand in the correct sequence - it must be 1, 3, 2, 4, 4, 2 exactly
- Skipping numbers in the clock hand sequence
- Not placing the weight on the hook correctly to reveal the code
- Missing the four-digit code when it appears - it may only show briefly
- Entering the wrong code on the rotary phone dial - the code is 7141
- Not using the key in the keyhole above the dial before trying to press buttons
- Pressing the roman numeral buttons in wrong order - check the clue in the small window
- Not checking the small window on the right side for the roman numeral clue
- Trying to align the rings too slowly - they continue moving and you need to act quickly
- Not aligning all four rings simultaneously - all gaps must line up at the same time
- Forgetting to collect the lever after aligning the rings
- Trying to pull the levers down without having both levers
- Not using the time clue revealed by the levers for the final clock puzzle
Additional Notes
Level 17 introduces clock mechanism puzzles, rotary phone dials, roman numeral sequences, and timing-based ring alignment that requires precision and quick reactions.
